Eritrea/Etiopien seminarium

6 oktober 2022 - 18:30 - 20:00

It will be a seminar on mission history in Ethiopia. The title of the seminar is: “Question to discuss on the Swedish Evangelical Mission’s pioneer era (1898-1936) in Ethiopia.” The questions deal with my own ongoing research:
Longstanding relations. The Swedish Evangelical Mission in Ethiopia 1898-2015″. First respondent will be Rev. Paul Persson and Dr. Michael Ståhl will lead the seminar. Rev. Paul and I have an ongoing dialogue since some years on the SEM-Ethiopian historical interaction. We are right now scanning the SEM archives together and try to update our knowledge concerning the SEM in Ethiopia and its interaction with Ethiopia. It is really rewarding and fun for us!

My own presentation on October 6 will be an overview and lead into a discussion with some questions (to get the questions, please send an e-mail to staffangrenstedt@gmail.com). Paul and I reckon that we need a second seminar on November 3, when Paul will present some of the issues more in depth with a focus mainly on Nakamte, which is his main research area.

On December 1, our last seminar this semester, Professor Samuel Rubenson and Dr. Mengistu Gobezie, AAU, will present a project called: “Saving the Ethiopian medieval churches”.

As usual, just click below on the  link, (you need to have a camera and a microphone on your computer) and you will be allowed to join our seminar!

We will as usual have our seminar online with Google Meet and the link to click on is https://meet.google.com/sfm-cnbx-ibn?authuser=1&hl=sv
Just click on the link and I will let you in to the seminar. This link will be the same for our seminars this autumn.
