Eritrea/Etiopien seminarium

Välkommen med på terminens sista Eritrea/Etiopienseminarium .
Professor Samuel Rubenson och Dr. Mengistu Gobezie, AAU, kommer att presentera ett projekt som kallas “Saving the Ethiopian medieval churches”. Det finns en gammal kyrka nära Lalibela som är särskilt intressant och som vi kommer att fokusera på. Vi ser fram emot det här seminariumet!

Michael Ståhl, one of our seminar members, has written a book in Swedish Prästkungen, which deals with 16th century Ethiopia and the war between the Muslim sultanat Adal and the Christian kingdom Abyssinia, Ekström & Garay 2022. I enfold a press release of Michael’s book, below.
Kersti Carlsson, another of our seminar members,recommends another historical novel about the Italian war by Maaza Mengiste, Skuggkungen, Tranans förlag, 2022. The book is originally in English with the title The Shadow king.”
